Sanche Zev (b.1990, Boorloo/Perth) is a photo-based artist whose work spans photography, print, sound, and artist books. His practice engages the imagination to challlenge and rethink contempoary notions of technology and art. Through designing installations, Zev takes a multidisiplinary appraoch to documentary art, using it as an entry point to create narratives that explore our understanding of human interation and the landscapes we inhabit. Working with experimental sound and listening practices to evoke shared experiences has become a key apsect of his work, fostering conversation and generating new ideas. Zev is deeply curious about connecting with the unfamilliar; This sense of wonder has fuelled his storytelling. His most recent project, Must Be Somewere, is an ongoing exploration of listening to arid landscapes. It has evolved from his interest in our connection to communication and the vast desert regions.
